A chocolate Christmas scene, traditional festive treats and an extraordinary world in miniature — join me for a Christmas day out in Rute and Mollina, two towns with something special to share at this time of year.
RUTE — CHOCOLATE & CHRISTMAS TRADITIONS
We begin in Rute, famous for its spectacular chocolate Christmas display. Intricate buildings, scenes and figures are crafted from chocolate, combining remarkable skill with plenty of temptation to take something delicious home!
Entrance to the chocolate display is included. Afterwards, you’ll have free time to discover more of Rute’s food traditions and enjoy lunch at your own pace.
The Sugar Museum is another highlight, with elaborate sculptures recreating famous faces and landmarks entirely in sugar. You can also explore the town’s jamón, turrón and anise museums, browse the shops for Christmas treats or simply settle down for a drink.
Choose the places that interest you most — additional visits and tastings are subject to opening times and any individual admission charges.
MOLLINA — CHRISTMAS IN MINIATURE
In the afternoon, we continue to the International Nativity Art Museum in Mollina, home to more than 100 artistic nativity scenes.
From sweeping landscapes to tiny everyday details, these displays reveal the extraordinary craftsmanship behind a much-loved Christmas tradition. Take your time exploring the different settings and spotting the details that bring each scene to life.
Whether you love Christmas traditions, artisan food or discovering somewhere different, this is a day full of festive atmosphere — with plenty of opportunities to bring a little of it home.
