Most visitors to the Costa del Sol never stop in Estepona. They drive through on the way to Marbella or Gibraltar, see a flyover and a marina, and keep going.
That's their loss.
Estepona's old town is one of the most genuinely beautiful in Andalucía — a maze of narrow streets where every wall is painted with a mural, every doorstep overflows with flowers, and the locals still outnumber the tourists. Over a million plants. Sixty giant murals. And the Orchidarium — 5,000 species under a glass dome, including 1,300 varieties of orchid.
No fixed agenda. No guided tour. Just a comfortable coach from the Costa del Sol, a full afternoon to explore at your own pace, and a return by 16:30.

What you can do in Estepona:
- Wander the flower-filled lanes of the old town
- Visit the Orchidarium (€5 entry, worth every cent)
- Walk the Paseo Marítimo along the seafront
- Lunch wherever takes your fancy — plenty of good tapas bars
- Browse the murals and sculpture routes at leisure
