The Alpujarras sit on the southern slopes of the Sierra Nevada — a world of deep gorges, terraced hillsides and whitewashed villages that feels entirely removed from the Costa del Sol, even though it's only two hours away.
Soportújar comes first. This is the Village of Witches — and it owns the title completely. Statues of witches and magical creatures appear around every corner, the narrow lanes wind steeply up the hillside, and the views down the valley are extraordinary. The legend goes back centuries, to a time when the women of the village were accused of witchcraft during the Inquisition. Today the village has embraced the story entirely — and it makes for one of the most unusual and atmospheric stops in all of Andalucía.
A local guide will take you through Soportújar's winding streets, bringing the legends and history to life. Guided tour included in the price.

On this guided tour, you’ll stroll through the narrow, winding streets of Soportújar, where whimsical statues and murals of witches and magical creatures bring local legends to life. The village’s enchanting atmosphere is further enhanced by breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. Soportújar’s unique blend of history, folklore, and stunning scenery ensures a captivating experience for every visitor.

Pampaneira is a different kind of beautiful. One of the finest white villages in Spain, its flat-roofed Berber-influenced architecture is unlike anything else in the region — a legacy of the Moorish settlers who made these mountains their home after the Reconquista. Free time to explore the craft shops, grab lunch, and soak up the atmosphere at your own pace.
Two villages. One very different day.
